Rachel Levy is an associate with Jerner Law Group, P.C. Rachel has a passion for meeting the legal needs of the LGBTQ+ community and ensuring skillful and knowledgeable representation for transgender and gender non-conforming clients. Prior to joining the firm, Rachel clerked for the Honorable Terrence R. Nealon in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in Scranton, PA.

Honors and Accolades

Rachel is a supervising attorney with Penn Carey Law’s Trans Empowerment & Advocacy Project (TEA) and its name change clinic, supervising law students and assisting transgender and gender non-conforming people seeking legal name changes in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. She also currently serves as the Co-Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association LGBTQ+ Rights Committee and as a member of the Committee's Name Change Task Force.

Rachel frequently speaks on issues relevant to the local transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex communities. She has presented on the importance of legal affirmation services for transgender children and adults for events with Jefferson Health and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Rachel currently volunteers as an attorney advisor for the Dunmore High School mock trial team in Dunmore, PA, and often judges mock trial competitions in the Philadelphia area. She competed in mock trial for over a decade before she began coaching and promoting civic education initiatives for high school and college students. As a law student, Rachel won several awards in both mock trial and moot court, including Best Advocate and Best Oralist, and was a finalist in the American Association for Justice 2021 Student Trial Advocacy Competition.
